country selection / usability

Since I mainly write to customers from Germany, I hardly need the “country selection” (it's annoying) ... and the “Germany” on the address is therefore superfluous. Couldn't this be hidden if I set Germany under “Default” in my settings? Customers would then be pre-selected (by default) German and the billing address would only contain the country suffix for “non-German”.
